I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to transmit herewith, for the information or the Secretary of State for the Colonies, copy of a letter dated 29th December last received from the Vice Admiral Commanding H. M. Australian Fleet relative to the dealings of the Eng Hok Fong Steam ship Co., of Hong Kong, and I am to request, that if Mr. Harcourt sees no objection that the Hong Kong Government may be requested to invest- igate the matter with a view to the prosecution of the Company, if the evidence obtained shews an offence to

have been committed. A
